Awesome tips. I rarely order a drink at a restaurant unless it’s a special occasion, it saves quite a bit. We like to eat out but often it ends up costing more than it should, so I appreciate you sharing these tips. I’m going to look into getting an entertainment book too.

Another tip is to not tip unless your server deserves a tip. I know this is controversial but honestly bad service does not deserve a tip. Also consider just eating out less so that you don’t need to worry about money when you do eat out. Eating plenty of bread will also keep you from needing to order larger meals or feeling hungry after the main course.

Thanks for the great tip about restaurant.com. I live in a rural area in NETX but was very happy to see some deals for places I’ve been wanting to try in Rockwall and the Dallas area.

Great tips, Lori, and thanks so much for the mention! One other thing my family does is we eat dinner at home but just go out for dessert. Much cheaper than a whole meal but still fun to “eat out”. It’s a special treat for the kids! (And mom)

Most of the time when we go out these days it’s to a place that offers a buffet, with the boys it’s just a better value. Otherwise we end u at Denny’s, IHOP, or Silver Diner on kid’s night. We don’t go out to eat as often as we used to, but I definitely look for deals when we do.
