Mash Potatoes with Baked Potato Flavor

These mash potatoes are just heavenly.  I love baked potatoes but hate the work so this is a great alternative. I use mash potatoes as a filler for many meals, otherwise, my boys would never be full!

INGREDIENTS:

  • Red potatoes
  • Sour cream
  • Parsley
  • Butter
  • Bacos – Bacon Bits (optional but SOOO GOOD!)

DIRECTIONS:

Clean potatoes, cube, and boil until done.  Add sour cream, butter, parsley, and mash them up.  Sprinkle bacos if you want and enjoy.  Man, that was easy.

Well, I could have shown myself dumping sour cream and butter into the recipe but really, is that necessary?  I used these mash potatoe with that shrimp scampi!…Great filler:)

  1. This is a great idea! You know what Mitch Hedberg said about baked potatoes…”I like baked potatoes, man. It takes forever to cook a baked potato in a conventional oven. Sometimes I

  2. HA! That’s very true though. It does take forever in the oven. These are sooooo much easier and faster!

    Thanks for stopping by:)

  3. I make this all the time! Only I just boil the potatoes and add butter and milk. Oh, and some salt & pepper to taste. It takes about 15 minutes, which is perfect if you have a busy life!

  4. I make something similar but do it all manually. I don’t have a food processor. I use my old potatoe smasher and it kills my hand.
I posted this on my blog, I can’t get the banner to show up though. I did put the link to your page though.
Thanks for all the great giveaways!

  5. I use those Idaho Instant Potatoes, and they really are pretty good. Not like most of those instant ones. Try it sometime. And THEN if I can add what you suggested, to those instant potatoes, I’ll bet they will REALLY taste super good. Thanks for telling us about your system. I guess you just use your judgement when it comes to adding the sour cream?

  6. Sounds absolutely delicious.
