Ranch Turkey Burgers
This is a guest post by belhoste.
Most people prefer their hamburgers to be made out of beef. I don’t eat beef, so I have had to come up with alternatives (other than the veggie burgers). I made these turkey burgers for my beef eating friends and they absolutely loved them. One of them even said that the turkey burgers were better than hamburgers. I like these because they have quite a bit of flavor to them without being overwhelming. Basically it all boils down to this: these taste really good and can be grilled (what more do you need).
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 package (1.2 lbs) ground turkey
- 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch salad dressing mix
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 egg white
- 1 package (4) hamburger buns
- 4 slices cheese (optional)
- 4 lettuce leaves (optional)
- 4 slices tomato (optional)
PREPARATION:
In medium bowl, combine dry salad dressing mix with 2 tablespoons olive oil and egg white. Add turkey to bowl. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Form turkey mixture into 4 round patties, 1/2 inch thick. Place patties on grill or in pan to cook. Cook 5-6 minutes or until turkey meat is no longer pink. If you would like to add cheese to these, now is the time (I recommend Swiss). Remove from heat. Place meat on hamburger buns and garnish to taste.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 5-6 minutes
Makes 4 servings.

It would be a miracle if I could get my husband to eat Turkey Burgers, but these sound good! And mmm, tater tots

If you add a little worcestershire sauce to the mix it will darken the turkey meat up to look more like beef. You might have more luck getting a beef eater to try it that way.
These really look good. I’ve never had them before but I think I’d try it!
Great post T:)
I’m sure the ranch dressing in them gives them a kick. Sounds good to me.
My problem has always been the turkey drying out - or tasting too much like thanksgiving dinner LOL
I’m going to try this this weekend! Thanks!
