Wacky Pasta Toss

Pasta is definitely one of the world’s best foods. There are so many varieties of pasta that it can be very hard to choose just one. I am a big fan of veggie spiral pasta or bowtie pasta. They both taste good and they both make you smile when you eat them (how can you be mad about anything when you are biting into cute little bowties). I am one of those people who can make a meal out of pasta and a little olive oil, but most everyone else needs a little more flavor. So for those of you who need more flavor to your life, try this little recipe. It is very flavorful and goes well with your basic, run of the mill, cooked chicken.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 package (12 oz.) Veggie Spiral Pasta
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach, shredded (you can set aside a couple of whole spinach leaves for garnish later)
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- salt and pepper
- oregano
- thyme
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- 3 oz. Asiago cheese
PREPARATION:
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse pasta under cold running water using large colander - set aside. Combine olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, garlic powder, and onion powder in small bowl - mix thoroughly. Combine pasta, cheese, tomatoes, and spinach in large bowl. Pour olive oil mixture over pasta mixture - mix well. Garnish with whole spinach.
Prep time: 25 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes (to cook the pasta)
Makes 6 servings.

This looks so delicious. I am definitely going to try this. Has all the ingredients we love in it.
How much oregano, thyme, garlic powder and onion powder do you use (an estimate is fine)
I think this looks really good and super easy!

@Katie: a pinch of each is fine - more of ones you like and less of the ones you don’t
Colored pasta could add value to the food presentation. Great job. The kids would surely love it.
