-

So let’s meet Sunny first of Cooking for Real (to the left).  She serves up REAL down home cookin’ which I’m a big fan of and uses easy to find ingredients with affordable menus.  She is my kind of gal and I’ll be sharing some of her recipes with you over the next week!  Very delightful and refreshing!

Next up is Aida from Ask Aida.  This one is HOT my friends.  Food networks first Interactive show where you can upload, download, log on, and yes…even Ask Aida!  Very cool concept where, we, the viewers can live chat, text, call in, etc and ask her Aida what we want!  Whether you have culinary questions or cooking questions, she says she can answer them all!  I absolutely love this idea!!!

SHOWTIMES ’cause I know you’re dying to know!!!

  1. I love them! The shows give me new ideas!

  2. The new shows are just OK. Why must the Food Network’s new shows have all of these over-the-top personalities who come off as so frantic? Give me the peacefulness and expertise of Ina Garten any day.

  3. I have watched Ask Aida and thought it was a cute concept. I will have to check out the other one. But I agree with the previous poster my fave is Ina.

  4. I don’t have a t.v., so I’m excited about the Ask Aida.

  5. I’d watch these shows if they came on at night. Who watches TV on Sunday mornings anyway? I don’t have Tivo and my VCR is on the brink of extinction!

  6. God bless weekend cooking shows. My husband watches them and learns to cook from them and, now, he does all of the cooking for the family - and he bakes, as well.

  7. I’ve seen both of these shows and I thought they were great! Loved Sunny, something ’bout her personality was just too cute. Aida was a really different concept, liked the idea that she was answering questions but I was confused was it live? or were the questions submitted beforehand and then answered on the show? Guess I’ll have to pay more attention next time.

  8. Since I am a cooking newbie, the shows are sooo helpful to making sense of reading recipes and having fun cooking. Thanks so much!!!

  9. I always enjoy watching cooking shows. It is a nice way to explore different food ideas.

  10. I haven’t had a chance to see either show yet — I have been glued to the Olympics! However, after reading your reviews, I’ll definitely have to check them out! “Cooking For Real” sounds GREAT! I am so tired of pretentious chefs cooking pretentious food! Give me some REAL food that isn’t going to cost me an arm and a leg to prepare! And the idea of Aida’s interactive show is VERY appealing!

    Thanks for a GREAT giveaway!!

  11. Always ready to find good honest ways to cooking without adding strange items and tons of pots to make a simple meal. I will watch this show and be part of it.

  12. I’m looking forward to Cooking for Real. I’m always interested in down home cooking since it is my family’s favorite.

  13. Both of these shows are awesome. I like the Ask Aida because she explains things that you are thinking but never want to ask about. =)

  14. I am a huge FoodNetwork fan but I am not at all interested in these new shows.

  133. I’m leaning more towards Cooking for Real just because I, personally, can always use more ideas for interesting meals that are also affordable & easy. Ask Aida reminds me of Cooking Live but with a goofy sidekick. I know I’ll get blasted because people probably love Noah Starr, but I’m not sure about the combo yet.

  134. Didn’t care for either one.

  135. I watched both shows, I thought I would not like Cooking For Real, but I did find it enjoyable and the recipes looked interesting. On the other hand I thought I would like Ask Aida, but I really did not care for the shows host or her tech guru guy. The questions are just fake and it’s kind of boring. Similar to what the one contestant from Next Food Network Star did on his challenge and also similar to something Rachael Ray has tried on her show. Maybe I’m too much of a geek that them trying to be “tech savvy” in a fake way just puts it off for me?
