Bacon Wrapped Stuffed with Cream Cheese Jalapenos

These are super easy to make and I’m sure you’ve seen them everywhere but what the heck, I’m gonna put mine up here too!  For those of you who are new to my blog, I’m a Sure Fine gal.  If you want fancy looking food with name brand products, then you’re at the wrong place.  While their are certain things that I prefer to be name brand, the majority is generic and I’m okay with that:)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 15 jalapenos (when cut in half, makes 30) Or you can make whole.
  • 2 pkgs cream cheese
  • 2 packages of bacon (I normally use the thick Wright bacon but used cheap $2 bacon this time)
  • toothpicks

Cut jalapenos in half and clean out.  If you like them hotter, then leave some seeds.  Shove as much cream cheese as you can on that half and wrap with a slice of bacon.  I try to cover the open end and the top really good there is less cream cheese leakage;)  Stick a toothpick in from the top to bottom to hold bacon in place and prevent rolling up for falling off.

Cook in preheated oven at 350′ for about an hour or desired crispiness.  OR grill them!!!    HMMMMMM, GOOD!  Gosh, I just love these.

If you want to use whole ones, I suggest you use an apple corer to get the insides out.  It’s much eaiser!

I make these for my office Christmas party each year and they are the first to go. I have a variation however. I don’t put brown sugar and I leave the stem for easier handling. I also get the cream cheese room temp. and mix in a bag or so of the italian blend finely shredded cheese. We cook it at 400 for about 30-40 minutes.

My husband and I make these wonderful appetizers during the holidays. We add a package of Ranch mix to the cream cheese. YUUUMMMMY! I plan on trying some of the other variations….green chilis, shrimp, etc. very soon.

    Wear gloves or die.
Like an idiot, I didn’t wear gloves.
I had a severe reaction to the chemical capsaicin in jalapeños tonight.
    Not good :[
BUT, the stuffed cream cheese jalapeños wrapped in bacon were delicious.

also forgot to post on last comment, make sure all seads and membrane are removed from peppers and the longer you grill them on low heat the less hot they will be. try grilling with a mixture of charcoal and fresh cherry wood!!

Food does not make my life happier, spending time with friends and family does that. I’ve made these for almost every function I’ve had and I have 0 left overs. CANNED CHICKEN? One word, EEEEW! You could at least use rotisserie. With a large group I know off hand at least 10 in my circle that won’t eat olive, onion or mushrooms which would leave me with leftovers. I’m sticking with the original, and spend more time with the guests than adding way to many ingredients to a dish that is proven again and again to be a favorite!

Sorry, I just can’t handle arrogance!

If you use peppers you’ve grown yourself for this, don’t pick the peppers until they’re red. Green jalapenos are not fully ripened, and have not achieved their maximum heat potential. Also, the seeds have no affect on the heat. That’s a common misconception. All the capsaicin is in the placenta, which is the whitish membrane that holds the seeds in. For max heat, use red jalapenos and leave as much of the placenta as possible! :-)

Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything. However think of if you added some great pictures or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this site could certainly be one of the best in its niche. Great blog!
