Since I've taken a job over 30 miles away from home, brown bagging is essential for me! Thankfully we have a refrigerator and a microwave at work so I have lots of choices. Lots of times I'll use my plastic containers and put in leftovers to warm up at work. Sometimes while shopping I will buy the frozen foods I like that I can cook in the microwave. Last week I forgot my lunch so I went to the closest grocery story and bought items to keep at work to make sandwiches and have chips. I've saved a ton of money by not eating out every day!

I use lunch sacks and bags made of oilcloth. They are re-useable, so they are great on your wallet and the environment. Don't buy prepackaged things- buy in the larger size and portion them yourself. Its cheaper. Entemmenns bread and pastries always sells their day olds at a discount store. That is where I buy my bread and freeze it. They also have tortillas, donuts, everything for super cheap. Also, you can use first aid cold packs to keep things fresh over the hours, then just rinse them of and reuse them! Target almost always has cute ones in the dollar bins! We are big brown baggers here, we love it!
