I make these for my son but his school is nut-free so instead of peanut butter I add chocolate chips (which melt of course) but they still come out great.
Very addictive.

This is a wonderful recipe. My family has made these for since I was a kid. I am digging out my recipe but I am thinking that I when I stir in the peanut butter I also add 1 tsp vanilla. I will find my recipe and double check.
Thanks = )

My mom made these for holiday parties when I was young. I always thought it was so hard to make since she only made them for special occasions. I'll make these for Wild Man's birthday party next week AND our Back to School Bash too! Thanks for the easy recipe!

You say in the directions to add the coconut after the peanut butter but I did not see coconut in the ingredients. I take it about 1/2 to 1 cup??? However these do sound very yummy!
Thanks

My aunt made these too. This must have been the hot snack to make in the 60-70s for young girls.
