Cooking Light and Living Well

It’s been a struggle for me to eat healthier here on the ranch but one thing that has made it a little bitcookinglight easier, is the Cooking Light magazine.  I started getting the issues a couple of months ago and am so thankful I did.  I found that you really can make very good meals (esp. desserts!) in a lighter, healthier version and not lose out on the taste.  In fact, the ones I’ve made for my family were undetectable; meaning they didn’t even realize they were healthy versions.

Since I do most everything online, I decided to check out the Cooking Light website which I fell in love with immediately.  I really need resources and support for incorporating healthier meals into our life and the community was a bonus. I expected to see the recipes and all but I’m so glad there is a community. I can see what people substituted or ask what to substitute to make sure the recipe stays healthy.  There are even some workout tips, a marketplace, cooking tips & techniques and so much more!  It really has been a wonderful place for me.

If you’re in a hurry, check out the 20minute meals they have.  I personally like the  Chicken Puttenesca with Angel Hair Pasta.

They offer so much over there and I encourage you to check it out but if you’re thinking about buying the magazine, do it through me. I’m serious. With me, you’ll get 2yrs for $17.99 as opposed to their 1 yr for $15.

Are there any other magazines that you enjoy that have healthier recipes in them?? I would love to know. I’m expanding my magazine collection but I really want quick and easy ideas and healthy recipes.  Share them with me and if you have a favorite website, tell me about it too!

Cooking Light has been a favorite of mine for many years. I may renew for 2 years with you – or does it have to be a new subscription? I also like Everyday Food magazine. their recipes are mostly healthy and simple.

  3. I have been a Cooking Light mag fan for several years now. I have yet to make any of their recipes that we felt as though they were “diet” types of items. They all have been very satisfying and enjoyed by everyone in the house and several dinner guests even. Some of our family favorites have come from Cooking Light even. I highly recommend this magazine to anyone!
