Does anyone know if Fage contains lactose? I called the company and they seemed uninformed. If it does not set for awhile I believe it is not lactose free.
Thanks

NayNay- Same thing happened to me last night. Mildly tart milk. I think that Fage must not have as many live active cultures as other yogurt.

My question is - is it really yogurt? Why would I ask? Well, I've been making yogurt for years, using many different starter yogurts. When I used Fage last week, I got milk - not much thicker than what I started with. So - why does this happen with Fage. It reminds me of the Seinfield show.

I actually prefer the Fage 0%(nonfat) It has about 100 calories per 8 ounces tastes full fat. I love it with splenda and lemon zest. It has to be tried with honey also.

Lori - That cheesecake looks delish! My grocery store just started carrying Greek Yogurt. The texture is really different. I'm with Andy, it does make the most amazing Tzatziki. I hate cucumbers, but I love that stuff. We have a restaurant nearby that serves it along side a chicken pita (chicken breast strips sauteed in a basalmic vinegar sauce with mushrooms, onions, broccoli & green peppers.) Yum. Funny about the name. You'd think they could have come up with something a little more catchy perhaps.

While I agree that FAGE yogurt is quite delicious, their marketing department must be smoking something. Seriously, FAGE... No one is going to pronounce that as Fa-ye. Its one letter away from a slur and that letter is often silent. Come on guys.

I love Fage. I usually eat it with honey and sometimes fruit too. The only place I've found that carries it is Trader Joe's.
