EPISODES

Episode 1 – Premiering Sunday, April 5th at 8pm ET/PT

In the premiere of Food Network Challenge: Last Cake Standing, six enthusiastic Challenge all-stars receive their first task: illustrate one aspect of their lives through cake! The action-packed competition begins with surprise instructions to move into their kitchens and immediately start creating their signature cakes. At the elimination ceremony, a curveball shocks the competitors when they, instead of the judges, are told to eliminate the first cake artist.

Episode 2 – Premiering Sunday, April 12th at 8pm ET/PT

The five remaining competitors take a field trip to Denver’s City Hall where they embark upon an exciting, but complicated challenge: create a top-notch wedding cake in only eight hours. The competitors serve as wedding ceremony witnesses and consult with the newlyweds before completing impromptu cake sketches. The judges reveal the next elimination and the winning cake is served at the reception that very night.

Episode 3 – Premiering Sunday, April 19th at 8pm ET/PT

The competition heats up when the four remaining competitors design over-the-top cakes based on an original superhero, decked out with extreme elements like moveable parts and fireworks. Hours before the competition, they are divided into teams and required to combine their cake designs. The winning team advances to the finale, and the losing duo faces off in an intense, 30-minute “cake-off” to determine who will move on and who will go up in smoke!

Episode 4 – Premiering Sunday, April 26th at 8pm ET/PT

The final three competitors endure a 24-hour cake-making marathon – the longest competition in Challenge history! The finalists create a unique five-foot birthday cake for a set of sextuplets. Upon completion, they must transport their cakes 20 miles to the birthday party. Strategy, endurance and skills are tested and one talented cake artist is finally crowned the winner!

MJ just helped eliminate the suspense of it all. However, I am glad that Mary won. I was hoping for Courtney, but all three deserve to be in the top three spots.

I REALLY WAS HOPING COURTNEY WOULD WIN… I LOVED HER CAKE MORE THAN MARY’S… I THINK EVERYBODY WOULD HAVE DONE MUCH BETTER IF THEY WASN’T SO TIRED… THEY WAS JUST TO TIRED TO TAKE ON YET ANOTHER CHALLENGE… THEY WAS ALL EXHAUSTED, I FELT FOR THEM ALL… J T HAD A COMMENT ABOUT BRONWEN NOT WINNING ANY OF THE COMPETIONS… I THINK SHE DOES HER BEST WHEN SHE KNOWS WHAT THE CHALLENGE IS… SHE IS MORE PREPARED… I THINK SHE THOUGHT SHE NAILED IT… I JUST DIDN’T LIKE HER ATTITUDE IN THE WHOLE THING… ONE OF HER COMMENTS ON ONE OF THE SHOWS WAS… “IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, IT’S THE TITLE”… I THOUGHT WASN’T GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP….

  3. Cakette says:

I honestly feel FOOD network picked the winner before the challenge started. The only thing that came through to me was that they picked the decorator with the worst attitude and was the most emotionally unstable. She had one good cake (The “who I am” cake with the French/Mexican theme). The firefly was ridiculous and ended up with no plasma ball. The last cake looked stupid– the proportions were totally wrong and it was MESSY.

If we’re judging by the final competition, Courtney should have walked away with it. But Bronwyn was the only one who seem to genuinely LIKE what she was doing and take pride in her work. *shrugs* I probably wouldn’t watch a challenge like this again because the whole thing felt very…staged.

  4. Cathy says:

It did feel a little too staged, didn’t it? Now that you mention it, that’s kinda the feeling i got, too. With the exception of Bronwen, they all had their stability issues, but that’s got to be a sign of the artistic nature of the craft. I’m glad Mary won. I think she produced the most consistently good cakes throughout the competition. The televised program itself relied too much on gimmicks and contrived plot twists for it to be genuine. I’ve always like the cake challenges, but this one was a little over the top with some of the challenge elements. (Having to vote a competitor off I thought was an awful plot device, the 30-minute cake bake-off was just silly.)

  5. Sally Hansen says:

Michelle Bommarito’s site is down. :-(

  6. Lori says:

It doesn’t seem to matter what Mary does, Bronwen has a snide remark to make about it. Then she can’t seem to figure out why she didn’t win. Maybe if Bronwen would quit using white and pink on all her cakes and take a few more chances, she may have a chance – not. Good luck to Mary and Courtney, you ladies rock. I would love to see more Challenges but without all the drama from the show.

does any one now how did she do the glowin frostin plssss
