Four Foods on Friday and Great Cooks Community

I almost forgot to participate in the FFOF!

This week’s four questions are all related to vacation or traveling.

#1. If you could travel anywhere to have a meal, where would you want to go and what would you want to eat. I’m a scaredy cat about trying things but I would love to go to the Europe area to one of Gordon Ramsey’s Restuarants and try the salmon…just to see how different, if any, it is to the salmon here in the USA.

#2. When you go away do you make your own meals or eat out?

We definitely make our own unless it’s just me and my husband and we’ll splurge on dining out.  We don’t get to do that too often so it’s a nice…but without the kids.
#3. While traveling if you have to stop for a meal do you go in or do you go through the drive thru and eat in the car?

We absolutely go in!  Unless it’s imperative that we get somewhere ASAP, we enjoy the moment and stretch our legs.  It also give everyone a chance to use the restroom.

#4. Share a recipe or food related trip for people making a long trip by car.

Here’s something that we have done on numerous occasions.  Make a roast before your trip and either keep it roast or turn it into barbecue.  Buy or make some rolls or biscuits ahead of time as well.  Make a a sandwhich out of them like a sausage biscuit but with roast/barbecue and put each one is plastic wrap.  Throw them in a bag and go!  It’s just something a little different than the same ol’ cold sandwhiches.  My kids love it and it’s great for camping too.

Okay, I also wanted to take a minute and mention a Great Cooks Community that might be of interest to you foodies.  It’s a social network with tips, chat, fun competitions, and more.  You might even find yourself a chef job!  The atmosphere is very nice and the folks are super friendly.

You’ll find a forum, you can create your own page, write blog posts, upload pictures, and so much more.  It really is the ideal place to socialize if you’re a foodie!!
