Fresh Cranberry Sauce

This side dish recipe was submitted by Aidan, who also entered into my big mixer giveaway

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 12-ounce package Fresh or Frozen Cranberries
  • Dash of cinnamon

Combine sugar, orange juice, water and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. Bring to boil; add cranberries, return to boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 15 minutes, skim foam off top, stirring occasionally. Cover and cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate until serving time.

Makes 2 1/4 cups. (approx.)

    I have made this many times. I also add orange peels (very thin strips of zest). Wonderful!!
