Guys, I’m moving at the moment so please bear with me until I get settled in! I would greatly appreciate it. Here’s a submitted recipe from Robyn. Thanks so much!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb White Roughy fish fillets
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- juice of 1 lime
- 6 cloves garlic, minced (we like garlic!) 1″ piece or so of fresh ginger – peeled and chopped fine
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp sugar
- oil (to brush your grill with)
DIrections:
Mix the soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped ginger, red pepper flakes, and sugar together in a large shallow dish. Add the fish and flip over once so you have the marinade on both sides.
Marinate for 15 minutes. Turn on the grill and oil the grates so the fish doesn’t stick. Hubby says heat the grill to about 300′. Place the fish on the grill and cook about 6 or 7 minutes per side (depends on the thickness of your fish). Just flip once so it doesn’t fall apart on you – it’s delicate. Take the marinade and pour into a small saucepan and either on the grill or stove top heat to boiling and reduce until it’s a bit thicker. Serve the fish with the sauce on the side. The sauce is also good soaking into the rice!

LOL – I thought this recipe looked familiar when I glanced at in on the RSS email feed. No wonder since I’m Robyn that submitted it
Glad you liked it enough to share on your blog.
Everyone, this is really good. White roughy is also called Swai in some places. If you can’t find either talapia would also work – any kind of fish actually that is similar. I always serve with rice or couscous which soaks up the sauce and is yummy and some green veggies (whatever is fresh and not to powerful)

I think rice always complements fish well. Definitely a lot better then potatoes. However, I could eat rice with just about anything… so I’m not sure my opinion counts.

This would indeed go with rice since it looks like a “teriyaki” type recipe. It works great with mackerel too! Thanks!
I wish I loved fish better. Living in a coastal state, I sure limit myself to all the fresh fish that is available to me daily because I only like flounder. Oh well… no rule says we have to like it all. Good thing….or I would be in serious violation! lol
