Holy Moly, Guacamole! I Looooove me some Dip

I’m a huge fan of guacamole dip and I love it to eat it different ways.  While we usually eat it in a more chunkier fashion, we decided to have a creamy version this week.

I would love to hear how you make yours.  Tell me in the comments or blog about it and leave your url.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Avocados
  • Tomatoes
  • Onion
  • Sour Cream
  • Lemon Juice
  • Salt

DIRECTIONS:

I didn’t specify amounts because you just use according to how much you are making and to your own tastebuds.

I cut my avocados in half long ways, twist off, use a knife to stab the seed and remove, and scoop out with a spoon.  Dice your tomatoes and onion up and throw in a bowl with your avocados along with the sour cream, lemon juice, and salt.  Now mix, mash, or whatever your little heart desires and Viola!  Dang that’s easy and it’s such a good snack or party dip.

I would have uploaded more pictures but it’s hard to do when you’re on dial up still:(

Enjoy folks and look for a new giveaway coming soon:)

BEFORE

AFTER:) Not too pretty but it sure is good to eat!

I love guacamole too and in fact just made some last night. I don’t use sour cream usually, but I’ll eat it any way.

  3. Glen says:

I use avocados, minced garlic, lime juice, and a pinch of kosher salt. I put in all in a bowl and smash it up with a fork, then taste to see if it needs more lime juice. Fresh, clean and easy!

  4. Christine says:

EXACTLY the same way as you! lol … I should make some guac with dinner tonight :) YUM!

    I make guacamole completly different-
    3 avacados
    3 hard boiled egg chopped
    1/2 onion chopped
    tabasco
    garlic powder
    mrs. dash

peel and seed avacados, mash chunky like with a potatoe masher, add eggs and onion put in 4 to 5 shakes of the tobasco and a good shake of the garlic and Mrs. Dash.

refrigerate and serve with tortilla chips.

I know that most people don’t put in boiled eggs, but this guacamole is really good. I get alot of compliments on it.

I love guacamole too! So…to me..it looks fantastic! I’ve never tried to make it on my own but I should. It looks easy.

  8. Heather says:

Avocados are one of my favorite comfort foods! I usually make it pretty traditionally with avocado, crushed garlic, sea salt, pepper, very finely minced onion, chopped tomatoes, lime juice, and various dried chili powders – usually hot ones; I like it spicy! I use a mini masher so the onion and garlic juices really get mushed in. Then I add the tomatoes at the end. Yum!

YUM, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like guacamole!

I put avocados, jalepeno or serrano peppers, red onion, cilantro, tomatoes, lime juice and salt in mine. I always test the heat of the peppers before I add them, because I don’t want to ruin the entire pot of guacamole by making it so fire hot that no one can eat it.

I could sit in a corner with a whole bowl of guacamole and just be the happiest little camper in the room. And I keep telling myself “good fats…good fats”

I like it with a little cream cheese (optional), cilantro, fresh lime, tomato, and red onion. So good.

  13. Kathy Winsted says:

If you like guacamole, here is a great fresh salsa recipe that goes great with meatloaf or london broil or poultry:

    one large tomato, cut up
one medium avacado, cut in chunks
    1/2 cup salsa

optional: Add 1/2 cup Flax & Company (flax, nuts and seeds) for extra fiber, protein and crunch

  14. Caleb says:

Though it always looks like fresh doo-doo batter, I love me some guac. This recipe is no exception. I will get high and make this recipe.

Which avocados do you use? The Haas or the larger ones?

  17. Phillip says:

I just mix “smushed” avocados with either picante sauce or (if it’s all I have on hand) salsa. It works pretty well.

  18. Debra says:

I love guacamole and by seeing the picture looks great!

  19. Alison says:

you need cilantro! it adds that extra zing. Also a bit of garlic powder.

  20. Nancy says:

I use avocado, roma tomatoes, red onion, garlic salt, cumin, and sometimes cayenne pepper, although I liked it without the heat mostly! I love the cumin in it as it gives it a nice flavor! I’ve never had guac with sour cream before, I may have to try it!
