I don’t know anyone who hasn’t had a Happy Meal at least once in their life and I can remember how much I looked forward to seeing what toy would be in there and eating those cookies after finishing my meal! As a busy mom, McDonald’s has saved me many times when my little guys were hungry. It’s super FAST and was easy on the pocketbook. Both of my boys would get the chicken nuggets every.single.time. Today, my little man prefers the cheeseburger.
Well it’s the 30th birthday of the McDonald’s Happy Meal and the least I could do is pay tribute to them for all the Happy Meals and happy faces they have supplied us over the years. So I’m wishing a Happy, Happy Birthday to the Happy Meal along with Shawn Johnson, who also happens to be a Happiness Ambassador! Her and Ronald McDonald were celebrating the birthday and naming Minneapolis as one of the Top 10 Happiest Cities in America! WOOT! Also by visiting the site, you can also create birthday cards! Just a little fyi

In honor the McDonald’s Happy Meal Birthday, I’m giving away a prize! This would be GREAT for the kiddos or even the collector!
One winner will receive an entire set of the TY Teenie Beanie Babies. That’s 30 of the cutest little animals ever! I know you remember them…we all got them in our Happy Meals over the years! Through August 13th, you can get one of these in your Happy Meal too!

I guess there is no shame in admitting that I still order an occasional Happy Meal when I’m on a diet and I just need the taste of something from McDonald’s. There are three generations of McDonald’s lovers in my family. The shakes and the fries may have changed somewhat over the years but we keep coming back for more. Its the American icon…mom’s apple pie, the American flag and McDonald’s. That will never change.
My happy meal story is from now, as an adult. I didn’t get happy meals much as a kid, but now that I’m 22 and buying my own food… well I love happy meals. I have really severe acid reflux but I love cheeseburgers, and the Happy Meal cheeseburgers are the only ones that don’t aggravate my reflux. I have an 18-month-old son and we go together and both get happy meals and then play on the play place. It’s great fun.
happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love the happymeals
they make ma super happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE MY HAPPY MEALS! In fact, now that I have toddler twin girls we share our happy meals — I get two meals so they each have a toy and it’s enough food for the three of us to have a bigger snack.
Recently, I was sorting through a box of old things at my parents house and what did I find? A bunch of the “transformers” happy meal toys that came in the shape of McD foods: big mac, nuggets, drink, cone, breakfast. That was early high school for me and I remember trying to go often enough to collect them all.
A neat trip down memory lane.
I confess! I enjoy eating happy meals and I am an adult! Great portion control and I feel like a kid again!
