McDonald’s Happy Meal 30th Birthday

30 Years of Happiness Logo

I don’t know anyone who hasn’t had a Happy Meal at least once in their life and I can remember how much I looked forward to seeing what toy would be in there and eating those cookies after finishing my meal!  As a busy mom, McDonald’s has saved me many times when my little guys were hungry.  It’s super FAST and was easy on the pocketbook.  Both of my boys would get the chicken nuggets every.single.time.  Today, my little man prefers the cheeseburger.

Well it’s the 30th birthday of the McDonald’s Happy Meal and the least I could do is pay tribute to them for all the Happy Meals and happy faces they have supplied us over the years.  So I’m wishing a Happy, Happy Birthday to the Happy Meal along with Shawn Johnson, who also happens to be a Happiness Ambassador!  Her and Ronald McDonald were celebrating the birthday and naming Minneapolis as one of the Top 10 Happiest Cities in America!  WOOT! Also by visiting the site, you can also create birthday cards! Just a little fyi

My special needs sister passed away 5 years ago. She was a McDonald’s toy collector like none other! While we donated many of her belongings to charitable organizations, we have kept all of her storage bins of McDonald’s toys.

My daughter loved beanie babies. Whenever there was a new teeny beanie at McDonald’s, we had to rush over and get one. Of course, often they ran out so the kids wanted McDonald’s anyway. We’d have to go back again daily til we were able to get the latest beanie. Needless to say, we ate a lot of McD’s

I remember when I was pregnant with my first. When I passed that MS stage I started craving McDonald’s Happy Meals. I would get a few at a time and get the burgers with just onions and added the fries on top. They had never tasted so good. I saved all the toys and gave them to my daughter when she was old enough to play with them :)
