I recently downloaded the Kraft iFood Assistant app because 1) I’m a foodie and 2) one of my biggest goals for 2010 is to be more organized. I actually don’t have hardly any food apps on my iPhone so I was excited to try this out.

From the main menu, you can access a number of features immediately; recipe of the day, cooking videos, recipe box, shopping list, and recipe ideas for dinner or that are even budget friendly, although I found almost all the recipes to be pretty budget friendly.
(my iPhone screen is dirty…sorry ’bout that!)
There are gazillions of recipes to choose from but my favorite part, and the part that will help in my organization goal, is the nifty shopping list it creates from the recipes that I want to use. Not only that, it categorizes your ingredients by aisle or recipe and when you get the item, you can check the box to mark it off. In my recipe box at this moment is Crisp and Creamy Baked Chicken. I can see a beautiful, vibrant photo of the recipe dish with tabs to view ingredients, directions, and ideas. There is also two spots to click on if you choose to that will add to your recipe box and/or your shopping list. It tells you everything you need to know, including prep time and total cooking time. You can even sync your recipe box to your recipe box on KraftFoods.com. THAT is very cool!
Another feature I loved was the “What’s on Hand” section. You can search for recipes with up to three ingredients that you currently have in your pantry. It offers a store locator complete with map, reminders, and even comments and ratings of each recipe.
Overall, I LOVE this app and give it two thumbs up all around. I found it useful while in the store and by searching recipes under the budget friendly section, I was able to add a couple of more meals for less than I thought while at the store.
I didn’t find any problems with the app, nor did I find anything that I didn’t like. I’m a huge fan of Kraft already so I’m happy to see them step into the “now” with this application.
The Kraft iFood Assistant app is available for download on iTunes for $.99 cents. You can read more about all the features at the official iFood Assistant website but if you’re a foodie who loves recipes and lists, you’ll love this!
Oh, and that Crisp and Creamy Baked Chicken…….Keep your eyes peeled out for that recipe coming soon here at My Wooden Spoon!

I like the Ranch Red Potatoes, but without the bacon.
I like that you can have your own recipe box and find it neat that you can locate nearby stores. That would be handy for different reasons, like when I go on vacation I’ll always buy snacks for the room to save on vending machine prices and then I woudln’t have to guess where a grocery store is!
I like the mobile recipe box. I dislike that since I don’t own a IPhone, but instead a Sanyo they don’t offer a magical way to make my old phone have those features.
My favorite is the Smart Shopping List feature.
I like the recipe box. Though my lack of an iPhone is something of a drawback. Lucky iPhone users!
Wow, these are all neat features but I especially like the 7000+recipes. I love cooking and trying new things! How handy at your fingertips!
The Recipe Box would really help me organize.
I find most of my recipes from Kraft! Love it!
I really like that the app offers step by step instructions on the screen for the recipes. I don’t know if it does it or not but it would be great if it read the steps to you as well so you don’t have to touch the phone while cooking or baking.
I just got an iphone and I would love to try this app. I hate being in a store with my list at home. This way I check ingredients for the recipe from my phone!
I like having your own recipe box
I like the idea of the recipe box
Smart Shopping List feature this looks awesome
Definitely the Smart Shopping List would help me out tremendously. I always seem to forget something on my list.
I love the smart shopping list….a great way not to forget the necessary ingredients.
The smart shopping list looks incredible.
I signed up for your newsletter.
The Merry Cherry Cheesecake with Philadelphia light cream cheese sounds delicious.
I love that this app puts over 7,000 recipes at my finger tips.
With this app we will never get bored with dinner again.
Thank you so much for the chance to win.
