We are breakfast eaters around here so I can’t really afford to buy premade stuff like those bags full of pancakes or boxes of waffles. It’s much cheaper to make my own from scratch and I have to say, much better tasting in my opinion. They are very simple to make and even had my toddler help throw some powdered sugar on top for fun! We eat pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. YUM! If pancakes aren’t your thing, try a traditional breakfast, bacon brunch bites or country fried sandwich.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cup milk ( I usually add a bit more to my desired consistency)
- 2 Tablespoons oil
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS:
Mix your dry ingredients together, then add in your wet ingredients. Mix until smooth and to desired consistency. I pour into a measuring cup I have with a pour spout but you can use whatever. Pour out onto semi-hot griddle; not too hot or the middle of your pancakes won’t cook through. I use my tortilla griddle. When it’s bubbled up on one side, flip! Serve with your favorite syrup, fruit or sugar!
HINT: For more flavor, add a bit of vanilla!

Thank you for the recipe because I am known for making dynamite breakfast for my family and this recipe really put me on top!!!

This was very VERY good!!! I had a craving for pancakes ad midnight and this took the pain away LOL!!
I just wanted to stop and thank you for this recipe! I wanted to try my hand at making homemade pancakes and I tried this one (with my 3 year old daughter assisting) and it is simple to make while tasting great! I will recommend this recipe to anyone who will listen!
Thanks!
The recipe was totally delicious . Was sick and was craving pancakes and was all out of mix did a search and came up with this recipe so easy and soooo good thanks so much will never buy mix again .
I have tried 7 (yes 7) online pancake recipes—and I’m stopping here, because these are THE BEST—OMGsh absolutely delicious-my 4 yr old son ate 4 of them this morning-and said I was ‘a very good cooker’ — who could argue with that?! Thank you so much for sharing!
Tried this recipe this morning, it was the best pancake recipe I have ever tried. I am looking forward to trying the others listed !
I just tried this recipe and the pancakes were delicious! I didn’t have regular milk so I used soy milk instead and it worked just fine. This will be my go-to recipe for pancakes from now on!!
This recipe was perfect and you cannot go wrong with it. I even left out a little flour and a little baking powder because my husband likes his pancakes thin and light. Absolutely delicious. I will never ever buy store bought mix again!!!!!! not only were they delicious but they were perfectly round and brown all the way!
Glad I came across this one! I appreciate the recipe! God bless!
I made this recipe today; however I made a few tweaks: little bit of sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla, and blueberries. The pancakes came out nicely.
I made this today, thanks for the recipe! (I found you through foodblogsearch.com) I added rainbow sprinkles so it would look fun to eat for my toddler.
Hey! I am from Turkey, i was in TX last summer and i still crave the pancakes i ate there. Just tried this recipe and they are absolutely delicious!!! Thank you, you’re my savior
what kind of oil did you use? olive oil or vegetable oil, etc
I used vegetable oil and it was fine.
Thanks for the recipe! I added vanilla, which made it even more awesome. Since my husband is a marathon runner, I separated a batch and added 2 tablespoons peanut butter and half a banana mashed. This is a great breakfast for athletes since it’s dense (won’t slush around in the tummy), keeps them full of energy during long sessions, provides proteins and enzymes too.
I have been looking for a good pancake recipe and this one was wonderful!!!!! My son asked for seconds and asked for some more about 2 hours after he was done, and if you knew my son you would know that it is torture trying to get him to eat anything!!! Thanks for the recipe it is definitely going in the recipe book!!!!!
