Cat Cora and Socks OVER

Interviews of our favorite celebrities are always a joy.  You learn so much more about the person instead of making of assumptions of them based on their TV character.  Food celebrities are no different.  If you watch the Food Network at all, then I’m sure you’ve seen Cat Cora.  I happen to like her on Iron Chef but I enjoy her other shows too.

Anyways, back to the topic.  Jessica from LittleMissMatched, got to do an interview with Cat.  It was funny to see what Cat’s most unusual recommended food is.  We eat it a lot here but I thought it just a Mexican thing.  I say we but I mean my husband, his dad, his brothers, and my boys.  I won’t touch it but read what Cat has to say about it.

So how do socks tie into this?  They don’t.  But I thought it would be fun to tie in the interviewer somehow and she does sell socks!!!  Mixed matched ones at that.  From the owner’s mouth:

our socks are sold in missmatched sets of three (individual socks, not packs) – this A) gives girls of all ages a chance to express their creativity and individuality and B) solves the age old problem of the missing sock.

Her inventory has expanded so don’t think she only offers socks.  I saw the cutest flip flops, bedding, and backpacks!

Because of the awesome interview Jessica had with Cat Cora, she’s decided to give a week’s worth of socks away to a lucky winner!!!  These are so much fun and would great for you, your daughter, niece, or friend!!!

What do you have to do???  Leave a comment telling me what food celebrity you would interview!

That’s it folks:)

Contest ends on Monday July 21th, in the morning after I get back from the Blogher conference in San Fransisco:)

Four Foods on Friday

Time has gone by too long since I’ve joined in the Four Foods on Friday Meme so today, I thought I’d start my Monday off by doing just that!  Be sure to participate because you’ll meet some wonderful people!

#1. Fruits and veggies. Do you prefer them peeled or not?

Not.  The skin usually contains the most nutrients and, many times, the flavor!

#2. What’s your favorite fresh fruit or vegetable smell?

WATERMELON!!!  OMG, I just love it when watermelon is around or someone has cut their lawn because it smells the same!

#3. What’s the worst food smell you’ve ever smelled?

Aside from rotten eggs???  I’d have to go with garlic.  Oh, I like garlic but when someones drowns their dish in it, that’s when I get nauseated.

#4. Share the recipe for the dish that you love to smell cooking in your oven.

This is something my mother-in-law used to make.

Pour some milk, sugar, and cinnamon into the bottom of a baking pan.  Enough to cover, maybe a bit more.  Open a can of biscuits and layer on top of the liquid mixture.  Bake until biscuits are done!  Oh my goodness, they come out all gooey like, sorta like cinnamon rolls and they smell sooooooo good!

Create Your Own Cookbook with TasteBook

How cool would it be to create a cookbook with all your family recipes or maybe you and a bunch of friends can get together and add all your personal favorites to become one cool cookbook?!!  Well TasteBook gives you the opportunity to do just that.  Not only can you create your own cookbook, you can also sell it.

The TasteBook website is super easy to use and you don’t have to complete the entire cookbook in one sitting.  You can actually add recipes and save, logout, and log back in to continue.  Speaking of recipes.  You can add your own and/or add their available recipes.  You’ll be able to add photos, servings, notes, and more! It’s very cool. You also can buy your book incomplete and add pages to it later.  This is very neat because it may take you a long time to fill up a cookbook.  This way, you can add some, order it, and when you’re ready to add a new recipe, just add it and get it sent to you.

This applies to any cookbook you buy from TasteBook that isn’t filled already like mine.  I haven’t filled mine up yet but if you purchase it now, you’ll receive credits to add more pages to fill it up.  You can use those credits at any time.

If you’re a blogger, you can also add this nifty little widget and hopefully earn a few sales;)

Alright, now for a surprise! One winner will get to create their own cookbook from TasteBook!!! WOOHOO:)

Just a leave a comment telling me what sort of recipes would inspire your cookbook. Easy as pie folks:) Got the banner up? Lemme know in the comments!

This contest ends on July 31st. Good luck

Popping a Healthy Snack

With the obesity problems that we have today, we are all looking for healthy snacks for ourselves and for our children.  Orville Redenbacher is famous for buttery delicious popcorn but did you know they make a healthy version too?  Well say hello to my little friend.  SmartPop by Orville Redenbacher, a healthier alternative to that buttery, stick to your hips popcorn.  I’ts only 100 calories for a HUGE amount of popcorn!  And it’s even more fun if you have a cool bowl to put it in:)

So cut the butta baby and eat smart!  See my middle son below…he loves it!
