Rib-Eye Steaks that Melt in Your Mouth

Feed a man some Rib-eye steak and he’ll love ya forever;) My husband’s favorite steak is the Rib-eye. I prefer Kansas City Steaks from QVC myself because they are super lean but if I had to choose another, it would be the rib-eye.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 rib-eye steaks
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 450′.  Heat oil in oven-proof skillet.  Sear seasoned steaks well only on one side, about 2 minutes.  Carefully transfer skillet to hot oven–do not turn steaks.  cook about 12 minutes, more or less, to your desired doneness.  Put on a plate crusty side up, and add a pat of butter to top of each steak.  Steak sauce not needed for these rib-eyes….why ruin the natural flavors;)

I agree. But my dh is meat free ’til his gal bladder is removed. He is desperately missing beef. Poor guy.

Awww man! I know exactly what he’s going through!! You know, I had mine removed by emergency when I was 21:( They said I was way too young to be having my gall bladder removed.

I had to eat ALL lowfat for 1 week before the surgery..I lost 16lbs!

Those Kansas city steaks from QVC are stamped by the American heart association and are VERY healthy!!!

Rib eye is my absolute favorite also. I find that cooking it on a cast iron skillet tastes best. But I usually sear one side, and flip before I place in the oven. I will try your method next time. Thanks!

Mmmmm – steak. I’m glad you posted this. Steak is our favorite meal and I would love to know how to cook a really GOOD steak. We used to have a favorite steak place – but the last 2 times we’ve gone, the steak has been less than wonderful.

I will try this in the next week or so!
