SmartShopper Makes Grocery Shopping a Breeze

I love gadgets, I really love gadgets that reduce my time in the grocery store so when I had the chance to review the SmartShopper (something I’ve wanted for a long time now), I jumped on it!

First thing I noticed was the simplicity of this clever machine.  Nice clear buttons make easy for reading and understanding it.

It takes 4 double A batteries and comes with 3 rolls of printing paper and mounting hardware if you want it somewhere other than your refrigerator.  Otherwise, it’s magnetic and sticks to the frig perfectly!

To see this in action, watch the video but in a nutshell, this is how it works:

Simply hit record and say your item.  The machine finds the closes 3 matches and allows you to choose which one you want to select.  Using your arrow keys, highlight your choice and click select and it’s added!  If you have a coupon, you can also tell it that so that you’ll have a little icon reminding you that you have a coupon for that item.

There were several items that I said that it didn’t recognize like bread.  Not sure if it’s my voice since I’m still sick or what but would love to see more items added to it.  Of course, you can program your own items into the machine so that’s a great feature.

Overall, this is a very cool gadget and the separation of food groups when printed out is what rocks my boat!

I usually jot down any missing items I notice during the week. then once a week I sit at my pc and type up a menu for the coming week and a shopping list based on the menu plus the items I’ve noted down during the week.

I just keep a list on the refrigerator and write things down as I think of them.

I’m kinda sad about it. I’ll either write out a short list and go to the store three or four times a week, or I’ll take a cook book or two with me and walk around like a geek.

I just write a list on any piece of paper I can find, usually the back of a bill :)

  7. My shopping list technique is one post it note for each store and for major shopping trips like payday I organize it onto a notepad according to the store layout aisles and will write each aisle items down.

  8. Checked out the ebooks and would like to see Monte Cristo added in the sandwiches and also an ebook on soups covering Potato, Cheese, French Onion and others

Um. Well. We don’t really have one. My husband and I argue a lot over whether or not we told one another to buy a certain item if that counts.

I write my list on a 2.5″ X 2.5″ post-it pad and when I get to the store, I stick it on the cart so I’ll have it in front of me.

First of all I love the grocery store!, I guess because I’m a foodie and it calms me down after a stressful day I usally put it on a little piece paper and then forget to take it.or my other trick is I lay it down somewhere in the store and and cant find it!! It does make it easy if you have a list because then your not running to the store every 4 mins. This little gadget would make this alot easier. Happy Holidays to everyone
