Here are this week’s four questions.

What’s your favorite fruit and how do you like to eat it?

My favorite fruit is the apple. I LOVE to eat in Apple Pie…….LMAO!

What is the one spice in your kitchen you use more than any other?

My own homemade steak like seasoning. It’s just a mixture of several and I swear we put that on everything.

Pudding. Instant, stovetop or premade?

I love the pudding I make for my banana pudding. It’s homemade and was my grandmother’s recipe. Other than that, we buy already packaged pudding.

Share a recipe using potatoes.

LORI’S CHEESE TATERS

INGREDIENTS:

7 or 8 potatoes (peeled and smaller cubes, not huge chunks)

Chedder cheese

1 stick of butter

half an onion (chopped fine)

bacon bits (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

Place your cubed taters in a casserole pan. I spray it with nonstick spray first. Spread the onion and bacon bits over the taters. Slice the butter evenly over taters. Cover with foil and place in 400′ preheated oven until done. Remove foil and cover in cheese. Stick back in oven until cheese is melted!

Four Foods on Friday is a fun meme to participate in. You learn more about fellow bloggers and gain some great new friends, recipes, and tips. Val has already put up this weeks questions so you have the whole week to turn yours in!

Here are this week’s four questions.

#1. Bacon. Chewy, crispy or burnt?

I like my bacon ALMOST crispy. I can’t stand biting down on a piece of chewy fat but I don’t want it to exactly crumble up when I bite it.

#2. Mayonnaise or miracle whip?

MIRACLE WHIP!! There is a difference! I have made it very clear that I’m a ‘Sure Fine’ user but some things must be name brand and this is one of them!

#3. What green vegetable is used in Italian Wedding soup?

I have no clue whatsoever:( If I had to guess without searching the Internet, I would say green beans. I don’t know why so don’t ask.

#4. Share a recipe that you use Italian sausage in.

I’m not a big fan of Italian food (except for Lasagna) so I don’t have many recipes. This is one I have made that was alright.

INGREDIENTS:

10 slices day-old bread
1 pound mild Italian sausage, casings removed
1 medium onion, diced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup red pepper, diced
8 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
8 eggs
3 cups whole milk
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons finely minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups prepared spaghetti sauce, warmed

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 13-by-9-inch pan.
2. Trim crusts from bread and cube.
3. Crumble sausage into a large skillet; sauté with onion, mushrooms and pepper. Place half the bread cubes in prepared pan, top with half the sausage mixture and half the cheese; repeat layers. In a medium bowl whisk eggs, milk, Italian seasoning, garlic and salt; pour over the filled casserole. Let stand 15 minutes so bread can soak up egg mixture. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until set. Let stand 10 minutes, cut into squares and serve drizzled with warm spaghetti sauce.

Stay tuned for recipes with pictures, contests, and MORE!!

The winner of the $10 is Leigh over at Eternal Flux! If you don’t know about my recipe submission yet, go read about it and submit yours today:) Thank you to the people who did participate. You can participate every month to get entered whether you’ve won or not. The winner will be picked randomly:)

Here’s my weekly submission to Val’s Four Foods Friday Meme.

Here are this week’s four questions.
#1. Hot chocolate. With marshmallows or without?

I LOVE hot chocolate with marsmallows! Unfortunately, with 2 kiddos, it’s hard to keep in stock. I like to drink this with my husband in the morning because I’m not a coffee drinker.
#2. What is your favorite ice cream?

There are so many kinds out there but my favorite is Strawberry and always has been. If I had to pick a second, it would Banana Split without the chocolate. Sometime the chocolate can be overbearing and take away from the other flavors;)
#3. What is your favorite candy bar?

I’m not big on candy but Rocky Road is my favorite. It’s hard to find these days so when I do see it, I grab a few for later:)
#4. Name something you make with creamed corn in it, and how you make it.

Mexican Corn Bread

2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup cornmeal
1 can of cream corn
1/2 pound of grated cheese ( I usually use a little more)
1 onion, chopped (Actual recipe calls for only a 1/4 cup, but I always chop a a little more)
1/3 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 or 5 hot peppers or 3 or 4 jalapeno peppers chopped ( I always use the ones in the jar.

You mix all of the ingredients together, except the cheese, do not mix in. Pour half of the mixture into a 9×13″ baking dish sprayed with Pam. Sprinkle the cheese on top of that…do not mix, then pour the other half of the mixture over the top of the cheese. If it does not completely cover the cheese I take the back of a big spoon and press it down to bring more of the liquid over the cheese.( Hope this makes sense. ) Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour…according to how your oven bakes. I test it like I do a cake, using a knife. This is good served with cooked lima beans or blackeyed peas.

It’s that time again.

Here are this week’s four questions.

#1. Bagels. What’s your favorite kind of bagel and how do you like to eat them?

I LOVE cinnamon raisin bagels. I like them plain but warmed for about 30 seconds. HMMMM, good.

#2. Mashed potatoes. How do you like them? Lumps – love em or leave em?

NO lumps! If I wanted lumps, I would make tater salad:) I like them with milk, butter, sour cream, salt, and lots of pepper! (and I wonder why I’m fat;)

#3. Mac and cheese. How do you make it? Boxed or from scratch? Add anything?

Well, I do the box now. Sometimes I buy the 4 for $1 boxes and sometimes I buy the velveeta box. I have made it before from scratch in my ranch cookin’ days but that was a looooong time ago. I would cook it in a crock pot but no special ingredients.

#4. Grapes. Cold, frozen or room temperature? Do you prefer red or green? Why?

COLD grapes. I like green but my kiddos like red. Really I don’t mind as long as they don’t have seeds!

There ya have it! If you haven’t participated in this meme yet, then what the hec are you waiting for??? It’s fun and it’s a great way to share a bit of who you are with your readers:) You don’t have to have a food blog or anything!

Every week I participate in the Four Foods Friday Meme. I usually do it on my other blog but will now be doing it here:) I hope you join in. It’s fun and it’s a great way to get to know others.

Here are this week’s four questions.

#1. What are your favorite toppings and condiments to put on a hamburger?

I put lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheese, mustard, & ketchup!

#2. Applesauce. Chunky, flavored, sweetened, unsweetened. How do you like it?

I LOVE apple butter. Isn’t that sort of applesauce? It’s great on bread or tortillas! Hmmm, good.

#3. Rice. What is your favorite way to make rice?

Well, of course we usually eat “Spanish” rice but my favorite is the breakfast way. Boil your rice in milk and sugar and talk about delicious!! (And I wonder why I’m a fatty)

#4. Coffee. Is buying beans and grinding them worth the extra expense over ground coffee?
