Sometimes it only takes ’sharing the cause’ to do our part in helping to end hunger. Right now, if you go make the pledge to give, volunteer, or share, you will be helping 140 people eat food that would otherwise be hungry.
Tyson will donate 35 lbs of food (the equivalent of 140 servings) to Capital Area Food Bank of Texas in Austin during the SXSW ’09 Interactive Festival. That’s a lot of food and the more who pledge, the more people that will get fed.
Tyson Foods also happens to be the proud sponsor of America’s Second Harvest Network’s The Almanac of Hunger and Poverty in America 2007. They’ve donated more than 54 million pounds of food and have partnered up several organizations like Share Your Strength, with their Hunger Relief commitment.
As of my last refresh, there have been 85 pledges, equaling 2,975 lbs of food!!! That’s a lot of food with only 85 pledges so just think what a difference it will make if we all do our part.
